The 50/60 Club

Terry Ainsworth founded the 50/60 Club in 2000 when he asked five friends to help him organise a reunion of football players from the 1950’s & 60’s.  The first reunion was held at the Boot & Shoe, with 75 attending.  After expenses there was a surplus of £141 as nearly all the footballers at some time in their lives used the facilities of the Orthopaedic Ward, Royal Lancaster Infirmary it was decided to donate the money to them.  The demand for reunion tickets was so great that the club had to look for a larger venue and Skerton Liberal Club was chosen and has become the headquarters of the club, entertaining up to 150 people on the reunion night.

The club has received terrific support from many businesses in Lancaster and is confident that a steady stream of donations to the ward will continue in the years to come.

For further information please contact Terry Ainsworth on 07969 425 288.
